Το τεύχος Απριλίου του Vogue Italia κυκλοφόρησε με ένα εντελώς κενό εξώφυλλο ως απάντηση στην εν εξελίξει πανδημία και τον όλεθρο που επέφερε στον πλανήτη -και ειδικά στην Ιταλία την οποία ο κορονοϊός έχει χτυπήσει ανελέητα.

Ο αρχισυντάκτης του περιοδικού, Εμανουέλε Φαρνέτι επιβεβαίωσε με ανάρτηση στο Instagram ότι παρ’ όλο που ετοιμαζόταν ήδη το τεύχος Απριλίου, μπήκε γρήγορα στο ράφι και ξεκίνησε ένα άλλο από το μηδέν που να αντιστοιχεί στα τρέχοντα γεγονότα.

Ο Φαρνέτι σχολιάζει πως στη μακρά ιστορία άνω από 100 χρόνων, η Vogue έχει περάσει μέσα από πολέμους, κρίσεις, τρομοκρατικές ενέργειες. Η ευγενής παράδοσή της είναι ποτέ να μη στρέφει το βλέμμα της από την άλλη.

Ο αρχισυντάκτης του περιοδικού αναφέρει ότι το ολόλευκο εξώφυλλο αντιπροσωπεύει τον σεβασμό, την αναγέννηση, αλλά και τις στολές των εργαζομένων στον τομέα της υγείας που δίνουν τη ζωή τους στην πρώτη γραμμή.
