  • Complexity: medium

  • 100g fresh butter
  • 100g icing sugar
  • 250g all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 70g fine semolina
  • 2 eggs
  • pistachios, almonds, and other nuts, for decoration
  • For the syrup:
  • 500ml water
  • 500g sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp lemon juice

    1. Beat the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, beating constantly. Then add the flour baking powder, and semolina, and mix until combined. Place the dough in the fridge to cool and stiffen.

    2. Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Take small pieces of dough, make them into walnut-sized balls, squeezing the top a little to flatten it, and place on the baking dish. Place a nut on top of each dough ball. Bake in a preheated oven at 180° C for 35'.

    3. Plepare the syrup by boiling all the ingredients together, mixing until thick. Pour the syrup over the sweets while they are still hot. Leave to cool until the syrup has been absorbed.
