Dough recipe for peinirli and pizza
Ingredients:
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 25g fresh yeast
- 3-4 tbsp olive oil
- 300 ml (approximaltely) lukewarm water
- 1 tsp salt
- a pinch of sugar
Instructions:
-
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in a little lukewarm water. Add 1 tbsp flour and mix lightly. Cover and leave to rest for 30 minutes, in a warm place.
-
Sift the rest of the flour together with the salt and sugar. Make a hole in the middle, and place the yeast mixture in it. Add the olive oil, a little water, and begin pushing the flour from the sides towards the centre.
-
Knead, taking the flour slowly and adding water as needed until you have an elastick dough that does not stick to your hands.
-
Make 1-2 balls with the dough, and place them in a bowl, after you have added flour to their surface. Cut two lines into each ball, in the shape of a cross. Cover with a clean cotton cloth and leave in a warm place until doubled in size. You can then make pizza bases or peinirli in any size or shape you like.
