Avgofetes (the greek way of a ...french toast)
- slices of bread: 8 (better 2 -day-old)
- evaporated milk: 500 gr
- eggs: 3 yolks
- sugar: 2 tsp
- vanilla powder: ½ tsp
- butter or oil: for frying
Beat the eggs, the sugar, the vanilla and the milk in a bowl. Heat some butter or oil in a large pan.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg-milk mixture one by one on both sides. Add as many slices of bread onto the pan as it will fit at a time.
Fry them on both sides until they get gold brown. Serve them with honey, jam or dusted with sugar.
